The main responsibility of the Financial Controller position is to optimize the financial reporting within the Belgian entity and to introduce improvements whenever needed.

 

Position Description

The Financial Controller is a key link in the further development and expansion of the finance department.

Main responsibilities are :

  • Set up and actively participate in the monthly reporting (local gaap + IFRS) of the Belgian entity (production environment) through ExQL
  • Follow-up and value calculation of inventory and goods in process different accounts with reconciliation
  • Internal monthly reporting
  • Submit all statutory required reports
  • VAT and Intrastat declarations
  • Assist the FD Group in case of internal control and audits
  • Assist the Business Controller in the budget process and other financial reporting
  • Accounting technical assistance to the local accounting team

You report directly to the Finance Director.

 

Profile

You are a ‘finance professional’ with a clear ‘business sense’ and a successful career profile with at least 5-7 years experience as a Financial Controller, preferably in an international environment.

  • You have preferably a university degree (or similar by experience)
  • You display a high degree of autonomy, clear decision taking, stress resistance, as well as strategic insight

·        You have planning and organisational skills. Meeting timelines, efficient planning and organisation and a structured way of working are familiar to you.

·         You are open minded and an outspoken communicator

·         You are a self starter, able to work independently, initiative taking

·         You have a pro-active mind in combination with a creative problem solving ability

·         You are result driven with an eye for detail where needed

·         You are able to set your own priorities and meet deadlines

·         You have a presentable appearance

·         You are fluent in English and have a good knowledge of Dutch/French. Any knowledge of Spanish is a plus.

·        You have an excellent knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint; Windows XP; ERP systems (knowledge Axapta is an asset)

·          You have a hands-on attitude
