Responsibilities

  • Supporting internal and external customers on the establishment and organisation of a mobile or fixed line telecommunications network.
  • Taking part in the management of day-to-day network operations business in terms of staffing, infrastructure & facilities, processes, finance and partnerships.
  • Taking part in development of strategic direction in conjunction with managers, cascading this to staff in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the smooth running of operations and activities.
  • Maximising profitability of projects.
  • Promote, directly and indirectly, sales and satisfaction of products and services to clients.

Essential Experience

  • Typically 5 years experience in Network operations, including management experience. This could be from a mobile, fixed or IS /IT background.
  • Negotiations with suppliers, customers and other operators.
  • Management of budgets for a large organization.
  • Proven record in managing in a large operations organisations both from leadership and business aspects.
  • Design, initial setup and management of a network operation centre.
  • Network operators’ business processes and organization, including industry standards for telecom operations.

Person Requirements

  • Flexibility for extensive international travel.
  • Experience in change management and start-up operations.
  • Highly developed skills in knowledge sharing and mentoring.
  • Performance Driven.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work in and lead teams.

Travel Commitment

This role involves extensive travel, up to 70% in Europe, Middle East and Africa
