The department of condensed matter physics (DPMC) and MaNEP invite applications for several PhD positions in the University of Geneva, Switzerland.
MaNEP is a broad network of Swiss universities focusing its activities on the fundamental and applied research on novel materials with promising electronic properties. The DPMC is MaNEP’s leading house, and has a long tradition in the studies of materials with unconventional behavior. Researchers in the DPMC can rely on several top-quality experimental setups (high magnetic field magnetotransport, transport under pressure, specific heat, optical spectroscopy, scanning tunneling and atomic force microscopy) as well as crystal and thin-film growth facilities.

They will be affiliated to the MaNEP doctoral program. The appointment is for a period of 3 to 5 years with a starting salary of ∼50’000 SFr per year.
Requirements — Applicants should have a master or equivalent degree in physics. Preference will be given to candidates with an interest in fundamental research, a solid background in condensed matter physics, and relevant laboratory experience. A good level of written and spoken English is required.
Application — The candidates should send a curriculum vitae, a letter of motivation, and at least one letter of recommendation by e-mail, mail, or fax to:
