deCODE genetics is looking for a postdoctoral scientists with interest in population genetics or statistical genetics. We are especially interested in scientists with a background in the genetics of complex human diseases. Scientists with interests in CNS diseases are encouraged to apply. 

Job requirements: Candidates should be highly motivated, having recently obtained PhD or MD degrees, and showing a strong research potential.

The successful applicants will work in our CNS department which is situated in our laboratories in Reykjavik, Iceland. Our international team includes medical doctors, biologists, statisticians and bioinformaticians and has access to state of the art facilities.

• full university degree
• good working knowledge of at least two of the EPO official languages (English, French and German) and willingness to learn the third before starting work as an examiner

• University degree preferably in business administration, finance, accounting or related field. Commercial experience and a certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent would be considered strong assets.
• At least five years of progressively responsible experience in budget and finance in an international environment.
• Strong analytical skills and the proven ability to plan and organise work.
• Proficiency in computer applications relevant to an international management environment, including experience in ERP systems and MS Office programs. Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage.
• A dynamic service and client oriented individual with a proven ability to find innovative solutions to problems.
