    Data from ART-CC have been used to inform treatment guidelines and for comparison with outcomes in resource-poor settings. Since treatment for HIV infection is lifelong once started, there is a continuing need to monitor and evaluate treatment outcomes in those with longer exposure to antiretroviral therapy. You will have a higher degree in medical statistics or a closely related discipline, or equivalent research experience. You will be joining a successful team of medical statisticians and health services researchers within the School of Social and Community Medicine. The post will be full-time on Grade I or Grade J of the University’s grade structure, depending on experience, and is for nine months.

    Applications are invited for a PhD Studentships to join PROF. TOMASZ GUZIK research group to study novel mechanisms of hypertension with a particular emphasis on the immune mechanisms of blood pressure regulation. Studies will include the investigation of the effects of chronic infections such as gingivitis on blood pressure regulation and complications of hypertension.

    The program will end with PhD award if a student successfully completes research and PhD study course at Jagiellonian University School of Medicine.

    Activation calculations for radioactive components of the proton accelerator facilities, using existing programs
    Maintenance and development of these programs, in particular update of the data banks which contain regulatory guideline values but also physical data like cross sections for the production of isotopes

    Calculation of neutron flux spectra with suitable particle transport programs
    Active collaboration in and coordinating the validation of the employed activation programs by comparison with experimental data and selection of suitable sample material

    The duties of the Lecturers shall be to teach in Medical Education/Clinical Science and Practice for all degrees, diplomas and certificates of the School. The appointee will work under the general direction of the Dean of the School of Medicine and shall discharge such duties as shall be assigned to him/her by the said Dean, however, accountability for teaching and administration associated with the post shall in the first instance be to the Head of Medical Education and the Director of the Graduate Entry to Medicine Programme.
